Facilities

Lucknow Barracks the home of the 1st Battalion is at the forefront of the Army’s new and modern Barracks and has only just been built. The barracks is well supplied with recreational and sporting facilities. The living accommodation is built around landscaped grounds and has a number of BBQ areas for relaxing in the evening with your new mates. You will be allocated your own room with en suite facilities in camp and located in the same lines as your platoon and company.

You've probably heard the saying "an Army marches on it's stomach", well that is as true today as it was a hundred years ago. Today, you'll get to enjoy meals (or 'scoff') in the canteen with your mates, where you'll get to choose from a wide range of meals - including Halal and vegetarian.

The gym is equipped with a wide selection of weights and fitness machines, sports halls set up for basketball, indoor football, volleyball or circuit training. There are a number of all weather pitches and a large number of sports pitches for rugby, football, hockey or cricket. Squash courts are available everyday. There is an athletic track and indoor climbing wall, plus a large indoor heated swimming pool. All sports and fitness facilities are provided free of charge.
